Day 1: After a few international flights and connecting to Arusha, you will finally be in the gateway to the famous Serengeti. With Mount Kilimanjaro as a backdrop, Arusha is a charming little town where you can almost sense the excitement of what lies ahead in the nearby Serengeti. On arrival, you will be met by one of our representatives and taken to Legendary Lodge where you will spend your first night.
Legendary Lodge is one of a kind, it is a luxury property located on the outskirts of Arusha, set in a lush tropical garden surrounded by a working coffee farm. Enjoy inspiring views of Mount Meru from the privacy of your own garden cottage.
Day 2: With an early start to the day, you will enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel before being joined by your guide in a fully private vehicle that comes with AC, large windows, charging points, free WiFi access and an iPad to help you stay connected through out the trip. You will start heading down the escapement towards Lake Manyara National Park.
In Lake Manyara National Park you will be greeted with a forest woodland like I have never experienced before, teaming with birds, tree climbing lions and elephants. Once you emerge out of the forest you will catch a glimpse of Lake Manyara itself and the sight of thousand of flamingoes as they feed in the lake. Exceptional experience.
Mid-afternoon you’ll leave Lake Manyara and take the short drive up into the Ngorongoro Crater. As you’ll be arriving at this view point in the late afternoon, there is a good chance you’ll see this view with beautiful afternoon light sweeping across its plains as the sun sets over the Crater. You’ll arrive at Sanctuary Ngorongoro Crater Camp where you will spend 2 nights.
Nearly three million years old, the crater floor is teaming with wildlife, the ancient caldera shelters one of the most beautiful wildlife havens on earth. Endangered black rhino are protected within its rim, giant tusked elephant wander the forests, male lion stalk the grasslands and flamingo crowd the soda lakes.
Day 4: As you leave the crater area, you’ll immediately drop down into the endless plains of the Serengeti, you’ll do a safari on your way up to the central parts of the reserve. As you get close to the lodge you will begin to notice more and more wildebeest as you approach the great migration. You will arrive at Siringit Serengeti Camp where you will spend 3 nights.
In the heart of the Serengeti National Park the camp offers exclusive access to the abundance of wildlife in the area and renowned for its wealth of leopard and lion. Listen to the quiet brilliance of nature surrounding you as you lounge in camp chairs outside your tent, or venture to capture sightings of the wildlife and numerous bird species in the park.
Day 7: After three fantastic days in the central Serengeti, you will begin your journey east towards the Tanzanian coast. A short transfer will get you to Seronera airstrip and from there you will fly to Zanzibar. From the airport you will take the beautifully scenic drive across the island to White Sands Villas where you will put your feet up and relax for three nights.
This is just a great place to spend your last few days in East Africa, amazing accommodation, excellent service and just an incredibly beautiful place to look at. You can explore the island at your own pace, go snorkeling, scuba diving, sunset cruises, learn to kite surf or just put the toes up on a sunbed with a cocktail in hand!
Day 10: Reluctantly you will need to check out after breakfast and be driven back across the island to the airport. From here you will begin your journey back home.
Extend your stay in one of our favorite national parks in Africa.
Instead of heading to the beach, take the short flight over to Uganda for a life changing experience with mountain gorillas.
Rubondo Island Camp is found on a remote island on Tanzania’s Lake Victoria.
